Gamer’s Rhapsody 2014

Gamer’s Rhapsody 2014 is the first of what will hopefully become an annual event celebrating gaming, but more so, game design and developers, largely focused on local teams and designers in Minnesota, and the greater Twin Cities area.  The event ran over Saturday and Sunday, November 15th and 16th in St. Paul.

From Nothing Game Studios attended Gamer’s Rhapsody to bring the upcoming Wii U eShop title, GravBlocks+ to the public for the first time.  We did not have our own booth, but took over the IGDA-TC booth for four hours on Saturday, followed by Sami and Erik Sati who brought out their shmup, Astral Gunners.

We received a lot of positive feedback and hoped to have a contest, but this being the first event, there didn’t appear to be quite enough people there for promotion in that manner (and we didn’t think out the contest well enough).  Perhaps next year, after they streamline the show a bit.  All in all, a fun and exhausting day, and our first event–so we got our feet wet, so to speak, to prepare for properly promoting… well, whatever we’ve got cooking next!

About Nick

Nick is a huge, huge gamer. Not physically, but huge in his love and natural understanding of gaming and game design. Long fascinated by console gaming history, and the concepts behind game design, Nick is also a collector and he cherishes even the terrible consoles in his collection--including the Jaguar and Virtual Boy.
